Tom Hiddleston has reportedly replaced Benedict Cumberbatch in director Guillermo del Toro’s next film Crimson Peak.

Crimson Peak is a “haunted house thriller,” and it’s Pacific Rim director, Guillermo del Toro’s next project. Benedict Cumberbatch left the production recently, which sparked rumors that he would be starring in Star Wars: Episode VII.

Crimson Peak is still fairly under wraps, but we do know that actress Jessica Chastain is still attached to the film. Chastain and Hiddleston would be playing siblings in the film. Guillermo calls the film a “classical gothic romance ghost story,” which is “very set-oriented, classical but at the same time modern take on the ghost story.”

The film’s press release was just sent over by Legendary Pictures and can be read in its entirety below. It discusses the actors a bit, but we’re left in the dark in terms of the film. Hopefully now that the two main characters are set, we’ll start hearing more about the film’s plot. We’re excited to see Hiddleston and Chastain pairing up.
