Jenny Han’s latest novel To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before has been optioned by Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment.

According to Deadline it is set for adaptation with Annie Neal writing the script. Annie Neal is best known the script Beauty Queen which made the Black List last year.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before follows Lara Jean, who has never openly admitted to loving anyone but has secretly written letters to her crushes that are stashed away for only her to read until they accidentally get mailed to them. From there the boys appear in Lara’s life. Taking us back to high school to experience love, embarrassment and all the moments in between, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is sure to an entertaining movie.

Jenny Han (Han like Han Solo, not Han like hand) was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. She went to college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Heels!) and she went on to graduate school at the New School in New York City, where she received her MFA in Writing for Children. She lives in Brooklyn.

Jenny has written several books including The Summer I Turned Pretty series and the Burn for Burn series which she co-authored with Siobhan Vivian. If To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before does well it wouldn’t be surprising if these two series were picked up.
