Timothee Chalamet may soon be tasked with bringing one of music’s biggest icons to life on the big screen.

According to Deadline, Timothee Chalamet is currently in talks to portray Bob Dylan in Going Electric.

Helmed by James Mangold (whose recent credits include Ford v Ferrari and Wolverine flick Logan), the upcoming Fox Searchlight production is set to focus on Bob Dylan’s rise to fame.

Going Electric is also set to touch on Dylan’s controversial move to embrace rock ’n’ roll following his success as a folk music superstar.

As for Dylan himself, the music star is reportedly working on the project behind the scenes along with both Mangold and Fox Searchlight. Dylan will serve as an executive producer on the project, in addition to granting the rights to his music.

Others involved with Going Electric behind the scenes include Jeff Rosen, Dylan’s longtime manager. Rosen will serve as a producer on the film along with Bob Bookman, Alan Gasmer, and Peter Jaysen of Veritas Entertainment Group, Fred Berger of Automatik, and Alex Heineman of The Picture Company.

James Mangold will also serve as an executive producer on the project in addition to his directorial duties.

As for Chalamet, Going Electric marks yet another high profile film for the Call Me By Your Name breakout star.

Coming up next, Chalamet fans can catch the actor starring opposite Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgard, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, and Javier Bardem in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune.

Those who can’t wait for the sci-fi drama to hit theaters on December 18, 2020, can catch the actor on the big screen right now in Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of Little Women.

There’s currently no word on when we can expect Going Electric to premiere in theaters.
