Starz’s new original series Outlander is absolutely amazing, and you might be thinking of subscribing just because you want to watch. If that’s the case, we have three additional Starz shows to recommend so you can be sure to get the most bang for your buck.
We seriously love Outlander, and it’s got us looking at more Starz shows to see what they have going on. And since Outlander already got renewed for a second season we’re definitely going to be keeping our subscriptions, but what about the rest of the year?
Well, we’ve got three additional shows for you to sink your teeth into to justify buying a new subscription. This way when Outlander inevitably ends for the season you’ll still have other shows to keep your subscription worth it. And no, Starz did not endorse this article – all of these shows are just that good.
Da Vinci’s Demons
A period piece, Da Vinci’s Demons takes place in in the renaissance and follows the incredible life of Leonardo Da Vinci as he fights for a voice in the seemingly endless war between religion and science.
Currently just past its second season, Da Vinci’s Demons has already been renewed for a third season to air in the spring of 2015. Catch up now and you’ll have plenty to watch next year!
Black Sails
Set as a sort of prequel to the classic novel Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson, Black Sails is a different type of period piece. The show focuses on the lives of a pirate crew as they search for a treasure during the golden age of piracy, and you’ll be sure to meet classic pirates like John Silver and Billy Bones. Filled with epic sword fights, sieges, and some fantastic dialogue, get ready to be immersed in a world of pure awesome.
While there’s no word on the official return date for Black Sails, it’s likely to arrive around January – the same time of year that the show premiered this year.
The Missing
This show hasn’t premiered yet, but it looks so promising we had to include it! Even though it’s not a period piece like the other two recommendations, we’re sure you’re going to love this thrilling series. The Missing is a story about a father who’s son goes missing and his struggles to get him back. Check out the trailer to get a good idea of what it’ll have in store for you.
The Missing is a limited series and will premiere this fall on November 15 at 9:00 p.m EST.
With these three shows now you’ll now have four programs to sink your teeth into and enjoy all throughout the year. If you’ve been having doubts about subscribing to Starz because there wasn’t enough, we hope you realize now that there’s more than just one good show on the network!
