Thor: The Dark World comes out on DVD/Blu-ray today and we take a look at the sequel starring Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston. Find out how many deleted scenes made it onto the Blu-ray and which bonus features are included.

Thor: The Dark World hit theaters back in November, and now the studio has released the DVD and Blu-ray for the sequel that pulled in $629 million at the worldwide box office.

Marvel is on a roll and it certainly isn’t stopping with Thor: The Dark World. Despite what critics had to say about the film, fans proved that Thor (and more specifically Loki) are exactly what they want to see.

The film looks absolutely beautiful on Blu-ray, as there are incredible scenes of Asgard and other fantastical worlds included in the film.

While viewing it at home, we’re able to see the enormous amount of detail that Game of Thrones’ director Alan Taylor squeezed into the sequel.

We found out recently that Marvel is steaming ahead with Thor 3, and while Alan Taylor hasn’t signed on to direct yet, we’d welcome his beautiful vision to return for the third film starring Hemsworth and Hiddleston.

Unlike the first film, Loki is the one who truly shines in Thor: The Dark World, as Hiddleston has us all in the palm of his hand. He’s an incredible force on screen, and despite starting the film in a cell, he’s given free reign to do as he pleases with what has become one of the most interesting Marvel characters to date.

Thor dims in comparison to what Loki is able to get away with on screen, but having them team up to battle Malekith just makes the sequel that much more fun. Watch a clip of the gag reel included in the bonus features below:

The special features include six deleted and extended scenes with audio commentary, the film’s gag reel, an audio commentary track and several featurettes. Also included on the disc is an exclusive look at Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which hits theaters April 4.

Possibly the most interesting bonus is the new Marvel One-Shot included called All Hail the King. Fans were excited about Marvel’s previous One-Shot, which was included on Iron Man 3’s DVD/Blu-ray and even TV shows have been pitched due to the quality of Agent Carter’s One-Shot.

All Hail the King takes us behind the scenes of Iron Man 3’s villain played by Sir Ben Kingsley. Trevor is in prison after his stunt as the man who everyone thought was the terrorist The Mandarin.

He’s briefly interviewed in the short film and Marvel has once again done a great job with this new One-Shot. They give fans a behind-the-scenes look at what the troubled actor has been up to while behind bars. Will Trevor ever make his way back into the Marvel universe? We’ll just have to wait and see.
