Two new reports include some new information about Hulk and Thor’s journey in Thor: Ragnarok, as well as two new female superheroes that will most likely be introduced in the third Thor movie.

Taika Waititi recently signed on to direct Thor 3, which is certainly a unique choice considering Waititi isn’t a name we’d been hearing about. But Marvel is known for choosing talented directors, and it’s exciting to learn that the film’s production is moving forward.

Birth.Movies.Death. reports that Marvel chose Waititi to add some comedy to what is reportedly a very apocalyptic film. This leads to the second report, which reveals that we may be seeing the superhero Valkyrie, as well as her arch nemesis, The Enchantress.

“First introduced in the pages of The Avengers, Valkyrie, aka Brunnhilde, was a longtime member of The Defenders, hung out with Doctor Strange and had Norse goddess The Enchantress as her enemy. In fact it was an Enchantress story that introduced Valkyrie in the comics.”

This would be a smart move for Marvel, considering Captain Marvel, their first solo female superhero film, was recently pushed back due to Ant-Man’s sequel being announced. Adding two new female superheroes/villains will be an exciting way to put a new spin on Thor’s solo films, plus Valkyrie has ties to Benedict Cumberbatch’s film, Doctor Strange.

While Thor: Ragnarok’s plot is still a bit of a mystery, it was just recently reported that the Hulk will be joining Thor for a ride into interplanetary space travel. The film is set to take place on a “distant planet” that won’t even be near Asgard or Earth, so this could open the Planet Hulk storylines.

What’s more interesting is that this will be the final film before Avengers: Infinity War Part 1, which means it has to include quite a bit of the overall story as we head into the final two Avengers’ films.

Thor: Ragnarok will be released in theaters on November 3, 2017.
