This Is Us is gearing up to dive further into Beth’s backstory, and now we know who’ll be playing the character in her younger years!

According to Deadline, Madam Secretary’s Rachel Naomi Hilson and Grey’s Anatomy’s Akira Akbar have joined the cast of This Is Us.

The actresses are set to recur on the series where they’ll play teen Beth and young Beth, respectively.

The hit NBC drama is, of course, no stranger to jumping timelines. Given that the show has been hinting at some rough aspects of Beth’s life for quite some time, it’s exciting to know they’re gearing up to take a deep dive into her past.

In good news for fans, it looks like we won’t have to wait long before we see Hilson and Akbar make their big debuts. Both actresses are set to make their first appearance in the upcoming episode, “Our Little Island Girl.”

The aforementioned episode is set to air via NBC on February 19.

In addition to casting the young Beths, it was also previously announced that the show had found actors to play a few other key figures in Beth’s life.

Beth’s mother, Carol, will be played by Phylicia Rashad while Supergirl’s Carl Lumby will play Beth’s father Abe Clarke. Finally, Goran Višnjić has been cast as a teacher of Beth’s named Vincent.

This Is Us airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on NBC.
