The votes are in for Hypable’s inaugural Show of the Month, and the winning show ran away with the crown in a landslide.

With 19% of the total vote, NBC drama This Is Us takes the accolade of Hypable’s first Show of the Month. The closest shows behind This Is Us were FOX’s Pitch and Lucifer with 7% of the vote each, and HBO’s Westworld just behind them at 6%.

“Look,” says Randall. “We won Hypable’s Show of the Month!”

We’ll be featuring This Is Us across all of our social channels in celebration until January’s edition of Show of the Month.

Some of Hypable’s staff have shared why This Is Us has been their favorite show of the fall television season.

‘An invigorating family mystery’ — Jimmy Bean

Aside from the too-real-to-be-fictional characters and the nostalgic time-hopping that ties the stories together and injects a sense of purpose into every episode, This Is Us largely finds success as an invigorating family mystery.

The audience is proven wrong at every turn about the assumptions made about each character and their inner depth, and because of this, almost every moment proves to be an enriching moment of understanding and truth.

We, as viewers, know next to nothing about this incredible, complex family at the start, and that’s the point. We don’t know what any of the millions of families on this Earth go through, and by examining one all-American family with a laser-focused lens in This Is Us, and peeling layers of identity back piece-by-piece, inch-by-inch, the audience is forced to understand that these people really are us.

‘Believe in the heart of this family’ — Ariana Quiñónez

Familiar fandom faces like Milo Ventimiglia, Justin Hartley, and Mandy Moore give the performances of their lives, making us believe in the heart of this family both on and off screen, while Emmy Award-winning Sterling K. Brown shows us that he can be as funny as he is emotionally vulnerable.

‘An emotional wreck’ — Brandi Delhagen

This is Us has become a show I look forward to watching every week instead of skipping a few episodes and binging them.

I find myself in an emotional wreck and can’t help but empathize with each character during each and every episode. From Toby’s binge-eating, to Jack wanting to start a family, to Randall needing Kevin to accept him as a brother. I could go on about every episode and every character.

It’s refreshing to see this modernized family grow together every week on screen as we fall in love with The Big Three over and over again. Now we wait until we can all cry together when we finally find out what happened to Jack.
