Those who’ve seen This is the End agree that it’s one of the funniest movies of the year.

Ready for a This is the End sequel? Co-director Evan Goldberg says “there’s a good chance.”

“If you ask me, I’d say there’s a good chance of sequel,” said Goldberg (who co-directed with star Seth Rogen). “If you ask Seth, he’d say no. So, we’ll see. We lucked out that [the cast] were all available [at the time]. I honestly don’t know if we could get the guys together [again].”

Despite scheduling reservations, if This is the End makes enough money globally we’re sure that the stars could carve out a couple of months to shoot a sequel. The good news is that so many characters died in This is the End that they’d only have to worry about bringing back the lead guys who go up to heaven.

Goldberg and Rogen appear to have put a lot of thought into the idea of a sequel. They’ve gone so far as to dream up great plot ideas. “Seth’s a cokehead in [the sequel], Michael Cera is a calm dude with a boyfriend, Rihanna and The Backstreet Boys are back,” said Goldberg. “We have a lot of ideas: a heaven and hell, for example, and a garden of Eden version where Danny [McBride] is Adam.”

What we’re unclear about is why Cera and Rihanna would appear in the sequel if they died in the original.

This is the End stars Seth Rogen, James Franco, Jay Baruchel, Craig Robinson, Danny McBride, and Jonah Hill and follows their attempts at survival when an apocalypse hits Hollywood.
