Sleepy Hollow season 2, episode 9, “Mama,” airs this Monday and we’ve got a look at this week’s synopsis and stills.

Last week on ‘Sleepy Hollow’

The team had to deal with Henry’s newest plan: A succubus. While Ichabod and Katrina were still getting over the faults in their marriage (and yes, there’s a lot) they also had to deal with the fact that Henry let out a succubus on the town so she can collect enough life force to nurture a baby Moloch back to life.

The week previous Henry tried to impregnate Katrina with a demon baby: Moloch. Fortunately for her Ichabod managed to banish away the demon fetus using an aurora, but it looks like all it did was send it elsewhere. Henry found him and used the succubus’ life energy to bring it back.

Of course, the team managed to kill the succubus (with Hawley’s help) and now Katrina has gone back to Abraham and Henry to try to get access to baby Moloch and kill him.

This week, family gets even more complicated

As if family dynamics on Sleepy Hollow weren’t complicated enough already, “Mama” brings a whole new dynamic into the mix. The synopsis for the episode reads: “A series of mysterious deaths at Tarrytown Psych leads Abbie and Ichabod to discover that an especially surprising spirit is involved in the all-new ‘Mama’ episode of Sleepy Hollow.”

The surprising spirit? Abbie and Jenny’s mother! The promo for the episode shows us that her soul is trying to get a message to her daughters, but it’s also…murdering people?
