The World’s End, Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg’s final installment in the Blood and Ice Cream trilogy which previously gave us Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, is set to begin filming in September with a targeted Spring 2013 release.

Deadline reported the news, providing the following logline:

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.

Wright, who last directed Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, will helm the project he co-wrote with Pegg, who is set to star alongside Nick Frost. Working Title Pictures is set to produce the film, with Universal likely to distribute. Wright is eyeing a quick production schedule for the film, as he’s set to direct Johnny Depp in The Night Stalker for Disney, as well as long-rumored Ant-Man project, which may be on its way to a green-light.

Are you as excited for The World’s End as we are?
