We’ll have to wait another ten months until The World’s End, as the first official still for the film has been released, showing Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Martin Freeman, and more in Edgar Wright’s next film.

To celebrate the completion of principle photography, Simon Pegg tweeted the following image with the caption, “That’s a wrap. See you next year.”

Apart from the absurdly hilarious costume Simon Pegg is wearing, the image doesn’t show that much except some of our favorite British comics together in one frame. We can only hope that Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and company can recreate the magic that was Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. If The World’s End is anywhere near that caliber, consider the Blood and Ice Cream trilogy one of the all-time best.

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.

Just reading the film’s brilliant synopsis has us excited, plus bringing the ever-so talented Paddy Considine and Martin Freeman (he had a cameo-length appearance in Shaun of the Dead) back into the fold definitely helps.

Universal has given The World’s End an October 25, 2013 release date and we can’t wait. Hopefully we see a trailer and maybe a non-sales poster sometime soon.
