CD Projekt also showed off a snippet of gameplay, plus a glimpse at their studio – including some nifty motion capture work and shelves full of awards. Expect Game Informer to release further videos over the course of this month.

The third installment in the series will feature a world 30 times larger than that of the The Witcher 2, which is larger than the Skyrim.

A brief announcement trailer has also been released.

The Witcher trilogy of video games is based on a series of short stories by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. The first two in the series of RPGs are known for their meaningful choices, gritty environments and mature content. The Witcher games have sold over 4 million copies to date.

Although this may mark the end of The Witcher trilogy, CD Projekt Red are already at work on their next project – a Cyberpunk RPG.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will release on “high-end platforms” in 2014.
