The 2021 Pepsi Super Bowl LV Halftime Show has officially found its headliner in none other than The Weeknd!

According to an announcement made Thursday (November 12) by the NFL, Pepsi, and Roc Nation, next year’s 2021 Super Bowl LV halftime show will officially be headlined by none other than The Weeknd.

The recording artist took to social media to share the good news with fans far and wide shortly after an official announcement was made.

“Performing on the iconic stage,” tweeted the After Hours singer. “See you 2/07/21.”

In addition to tweeting about his upcoming appearance at next year’s Super Bowl, the genre bending artist also spoke of how much the opportunity to perform at the sports event means to him.

“We all grow up watching the world’s biggest acts playing the Super Bowl and one can only dream of being in that position,” said The Weeknd in a statement according to Billboard. “I’m humbled, honored and ecstatic to be the center of that infamous stage this year.”

Meanwhile, NFL’s chief of media and business officer, Brian Rolapp also chimed in saying: “We are thrilled to have The Weeknd join us in Tampa Bay on the Pepsi Halftime Stage. Halftime Show performances have a history of excellence and creativity and we look forward to seeing what he will bring to Super Bowl LV.”

The “Blinding Lights” singer follows in the footsteps of Jennifer Lopez and Shakira who delivered a show-stopping performance during last year’s Super Bowl Halftime show.

With that in mind, we’ll be looking forward to seeing what The Weeknd cooks up for his performance. In addition, we’ll also be looking forward to hearing of whether or not he loops in any special guests to join him on the stage.

The 2021 Pepsi Super Bowl LV Halftime Show featuring The Weeknd is slated to take place on February 7 in Tampa Bay, Florida.
