The Walking Dead season 7 cast and creative team was treated to a packed house in Hall H when they hosted their annual panel Friday. The crowd was dying to see the TWD season 7 trailer in light of what happened at the end of season 6.

The trailer plays up the history of the individual characters on Team Rick — one or more of whom is about to fall victim to Negan and Lucille. Later we see familiar faces like Carol, Morgan, and Negan’s men. Towards the end we get our first look at Ezekiel (played by Khary Payton), his tiger Shiva, and his community The Kingdom, all of which are straight out of the comics. Enjoy!

As expected, the trailer doesn’t show us any of the characters on Team Rick beyond the Negan bat scene. We don’t expect to see them much at all in new promo material between now and October, considering their presence in scenes after Negan’s bat attack would confirm who lived.

AMC also used their panel at San Diego Comic-Con to unveil The Walking Dead season 7’s premiere date: October 23, 2016.

The show has made a tradition out of premiering each season’s trailer and premiere date at their annual SDCC panel. It’s kinda the perfect place to do it because there are a lot of comic geeks here.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan came out on stage at the start of the SDCC panel to reenact the season 6 finale:

At their booth on the convention floor, the show had an eerie photo opp with all of the characters lined up in front of Negan. It wasn’t the most comfortable exhibit to get near.

What do you think of ‘The Walking Dead’ season 7’s trailer?
