Sometimes it’s easy to forget that The Walking Dead is all about the zombies, but a new season 4 poster for release at San Diego Comic-Con will quickly remind you.

The new Walking Dead season 4 poster was designed by Alex Ross who AMC describes as a “renowned comics artist known for his work on Spider-Man, Batman and The Avengers.”

The art depicts a group of zombies moving “through a dead forest.” It’s refreshing to see a poster bringing our attention back to the core of the story – the creatures which caused this whole mess in the first place.

The Walking Dead season 4 will have a big presence at San Diego Comic-Con which kicks off this Thursday. Earlier this month we shared a banner with the show’s lead characters Rick, Michonne, Daryl, and a new recurring cast member.

The show will host a panel with many of its stars at Comic-Con, and we expect for the season 4 premiere date to be unveiled at that time. We’ll also receive a season 4 trailer that will hit the internet after its San Diego debut.

The Walking Dead will return this October on AMC. The title of the first episode is surprisingly descriptive and hints that things will be going well for Rick and the gang – until we catch up with them.

The network also announced today that star and fan favorite Norman Reedus will take over the show’s official Instagram account during Comic-Con.
