The Walking Dead season 4 has kicked off production in Atlanta, Georgia. To celebrate, AMC has released an inside look at training new zombies.

In what is called “Zombie School,” The Walking Dead season 4 executive producer Greg Nicotero takes us through how he trains extras to walk like zombies. The video is a fun watch because seeing the actors and actresses move like zombies without all of the make-up and clothing is a bit ridiculous.

Towards the end of the video we watch as Nicotero grades each of the actors based on a scale from 1 to 5 (1 being the best, 5 being the worst). In the case of this class he says most of the actors receive 2’s. Nicotero pointed out a specific girl who stood out, and he took her aside to tell her that he wants to use her in the first episode of season 4. The girl was, as you can imagine, very excited to hear that she was one of his personal favorites.

The Walking Dead season 4 returns this Fall on AMC. In recent weeks we’ve learned about new cast members as well as old ones who are being upped to series regulars. Newcomers include Larry Gilliard Jr., who will play Bob Stookey, “a former Army medic who is deeply haunted by his past — both before and after the apocalypse.”

Returning cast members Chad Coleman, Sonequa Martin-Green, and Emily Kinney have also been promoted to regulars. They play Tyreese, Sasha, and Beth respectively.
