In The Walking Dead season 3 finale Rick and the group have a major decision to make: protect the prison or run and protect themselves. Watch these sneak peeks from “Welcome to the Tombs” to get a peek at what they decide.

In last night’s episode fans saw Rick realize that maybe the dictatorship he had been commanding wasn’t actually the best thing for the group. Although he led them through tough times, his judgement has faltered. After revealing to Merle that the Governor agreed to end the war if they handed over Michonne, Rick changed his mind on the matter and decided not to sacrifice her.

Merle had plans of his own, however, and kidnapped her to bring her to the Governor. Despite eventually letting her go and trying to take on the Governor himself, this made Rick realize he needs to consider what the rest of the group thinks is best. In The Walking Dead season 3 finale he hands over the fate of the group back to his people and they must decide together.

In last night’s episode 3×15 “The Sorrowful Life” Rick announded that together the group would decide if it was better to fight the Governor or to flee. In this sneak peek of 3×16 “Welcome to the Tombs” we see a solemn group at the prison packing up their gear.

The Governor and his army show up at the prison looking for blood. With all quiet and still at the prison is anyone even there to fight with? The clip seems to cut off just before we can find out!

The synopsis for The Walking Dead episode 3×16 “Welcome to the Tombs” reads:

With the Governor’s attack looming, Rick and his people need to determine if the prison is worth defending.
