‘The Walking Dead’

Eugene: “So you’re aware, I’m on record as stating that I should not be here. You well know that I’m not combat ready or even, for that matter, combat inclined.”

Eugene does everything in his power not to go on the raid for new equipment, that includes trying to refuse to carry a firearm. Despite that fact that he admits to being a coward in front of Tara, when things go horrifically wrong, he single-handedly saves himself, the unconscious Tara, Glen, and Nicholas.

‘Girls’

Hannah: “That’s great news, I’m so happy for her.”

Ray: “Me too.”

Hannah: “I’m faking it.”

Ray: “I’m faking everything.”

Marnie’s engagement to Desi crushes Ray, and adds another item to the growing list of things Hannah has failed at. When you think you know what you are doing, sometimes the best thing to do is put on a smile, and fake your way through.

‘Looking’

Patrick’s Mom: “Do you want a Xanax, honey?”

Family visiting is rough. So rough, in fact, that Patrick’s mom offers her son a Xanax to get the through an afternoon with his highly judgemental sister, Megan.

On page 2: ‘Once Upon A Time,’ ‘Broadchurch,’ and ‘The Originals’

‘Once Upon A Time’

Regina: “Now I see you brought the entire Charming softball team and their pirate mascot.”

Regina Mills is not used to having an entire army of people on her side willingly. So when she summons Mary Margaret, she gets the entire package deal what comes along with it!

‘Broadchurch’

D.I. Alec Hardy: “Those barristers, who are they? They’ve never done anything of worth. They just stand there sniping. The whole system stinks. This is how people like Lee Ashworth get off, while decent people are treated like shit and aspersions cast on them.”

It was a rough day in court for D.I. Alec Hardy. He was prepared to have his poor performance on the Sandbrook case brought up. He wasn’t prepared for the defense to accuse him of having an affair with D.S. Ellie Miller, and the suggestion that together they framed her husband for murder. On a side note, we just want to hear David Tennant say “aspersions” again and again.

‘The Originals’

Klaus: “The truth is Elijah and Rebekah can be a bit naive when it comes to family relations. Case in point, their unending faith in me. I repay that loyalty by guarding them against treachery they cannot see and I sense that you are treacherous indeed.”

Whether or not his distrust is misguided, Klaus at least makes a valid argument as to why he doesn’t trust his newfound sister, Freya.

On page 3:’The Flash,’ ‘iZombie,’ and ‘Arrow’

‘The Flash’

Barry: “To be able to control the weather like that, indoors?”

Cisco: “You’d have to be a Weather Wizard. Ooh, I’ve been waiting since week one to use that one.”

Cisco is the metahuman naming master of The Flash, but he didn’t get to come up with a name for the series’ first metahuman, who controlled weather. But when his brother, with the same powers, shows up in Central City, Cisco finally gets the chance to use a name he’s been sitting on.

‘iZombie’

Liv: “What else am I going to do? Subdue him with a good verbal flogging?”

Liv and Clive arrive at the house of the killer, and he tells her to stay in the car. Liv then delivers this perfect line, both admitting to her sassiness and perceived lack of fighting skills in a great one-two punch.

‘Arrow’

Oliver: “You know me. I don’t dance. But I do occasionally say… thank you”

Felicity: “You’re welcome.”

Oliver: “And you were right.”

Felicity: “Ah, a ‘thank you’ and a ‘you were right.’ I should really be recording this.”

After Felicity gives Oliver some advice about reconsidering why he does what he does as the Arrow, Oliver realizes she was right, and tells her. Felicity recognizes that this is a landmark moment and teases Oliver about it.

On page 4:’Supernatural,’ ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ Glee,’ and ‘Black Sails’

‘Supernatural’

Cole: “Day in, day out, you and Sammy saving people from things they just can’t wrap their minds around and nobody even notices it. Hell, at least I get a medal for my efforts, but you, I tried to kill your ass”

Cole, who previously tried to kill Dean, recognizes the thankless work the Winchesters do now that he’s been drawn into it. It’s not often the brothers are recognized for the sacrifices they make, so it was a refreshing moment.

‘Grey’s Anatomy’

Callie: “Look, you and Derek are living proof that love exists, that it works, that there is hope. You guys are a freaking romance novel. And I, for one, am rooting for you two. Team Merder!”

The interns look to Meredith’s perfect streak of 90 saved lives as a beacon of hope that some doctors can conquer death. Others look at her marriage and relationship with Derek as a symbol that true love can conquer all.

‘Black Sails’

Charles Vane: “You removed the girl from my possession, but in turn, the man o’war moved on from the bay. Moved on from a position of heightened security. Moved on to a place where its attention, Captain Flint’s attention, will be so very occupied on the danger that is Charlestown and in a state of apprehension, in which the last thing any of them will be watching… is the water. I made clear the price for the girl. You should have known me well enough to know, one way or another, I was going to claim it and once I do, I’ll be returning to Nassau to settle the rest of my accounts.”

Charles Vane’s letter that he left Eleanor, pinned to the chest of her father’s body, leaves little doubt that he is coming for all who opposed him starting with Flint. Since he has the element of surprise, he just might succeed. Eleanor better watch her back, she has no white knights left to defend her.

‘Glee’

Rachel Berry: “Being part of something special does not make you special. Something is special because you are a part of it.”

Our beloved Glee characters took their final bow this week. The two-part series finale included a lot of full-circle moments, but none more so than this – Rachel Berry, winning her first Tony Award, and flipping a quote from the pilot – “Being part of something special makes you special, right?” on its head. That moment years ago represented Rachel’s desperation and insecurity, and now, ten years later, she shares the lesson that Glee taught us all.
