Have you ever been watching The Walking Dead and thought, “Gee, I’d really like to experience the fear of walkers chasing me down”? Well, now you can at Universal Studios.

Back in July, Universal Studios announced that it would be featuring the AMC show at both of its amusement parks in Orlando and Hollywood. As of last Friday, The Walking Dead haunted attraction is now open for business.

Those behind Halloween Horror Nights wish to “create an authentic experience that is true to the Emmy Award-winning hit series.” During your time there you can see familiar locations and scenes from the show. And as you would expect, the place is crawling with walkers.

AMC’s Walking Dead blog shares that Universal teams have also paired with producers from the show:

“We want people to experience the same terror of the walker-filled reality our characters faced in Seasons 1 and 2 — and will continue to face in our third season,” said Greg Nicotero, Co-Executive Producer and Special Effects Make-up Artist for the series. “Our collaboration with Universal Studios’ creative teams is exciting as we work to truly capture the essence of the show.”

While at the amusement parks, you can ride the Terror Tram, which attempts to familiarize newbies with the concept behind the zombies in The Walking Dead. The parks also feature “Dead Inside,” a maze that forces you to face the walkers head on.

One of the things we like so well about The Walking Dead is that they don’t often try to scare you easily with the walkers popping up out of nowhere. We’re not so sure they’ll follow the same protocol during these zombie-plagued haunts. We’re easily startled when it comes to that kind of scare tactic, so you won’t catch us anywhere near the Halloween Horror Nights.

Check out the video from Universal Studios to see if you think you could handle this walker-infested maze. We think we’ll stick to staying in our living rooms, watching safely from the couch.

The attractions are open and ready to terrify through the end of October.
