Tonight’s episode of The Walking Dead season 6 may’ve confirmed that Glenn is (spoiler).

Before we talk about the rest of the episode, let’s talk about the very end: As Daryl, Sasha, and Abraham are making their way back to Alexandria, a voice comes over the radio and asks for “help.” Is it the voice of Glenn? We know he had a walkie talkie while out with Nicholas, and we know that voice is not Rick’s.

Norman Reedus stated in interviews after the episode aired that the voice is not Glenn’s. If he’s being truthful, then it might be the voice of someone from the Supposed Saviors (more on them in a moment).

But really… we hope it’s Glenn. It’s time to bring him back.

Daryl’s bad day

Episode 6 of The Walking Dead’s sixth season jumped straight into the action. Just as Sasha, Abraham, and Daryl finished re-routing (most of) the walkers as part of the plan in the season premiere, unknown enemies begin firing bullets at the trio. The mayhem causes Daryl to get separated from his two companions.

Not only does the incident shake Daryl, but the gunfire appears to break his bike. This twist, by the way, doesn’t help Daryl’s argument that Alexadria should continue to go out and find new recruits. You may remember that Rick and Daryl got in a small disagreement about the latter’s idea in the season 6 premiere.

Who are these people who fired the weapons? It’s not the wolves since they don’t use guns, so it’s possible these people are the Saviors. This is the group led by Negan, the evil enemy we’re expecting to meet before season 6 is over.

For the sake of having a name to call this group, let’s call them the Supposed Saviors.

As if Daryl losing his bike wasn’t bad enough, three other people in a group of their own named Tina, Honey, and D capture Daryl after mistaking him for a member of the Supposed Saviors.

That is, until Daryl grabs a bag with his belongings when they’re not looking and makes a run for it.

After distancing himself from his haters, Daryl finds out that the bag he took also holds insulin for one of the people in the trio. Since Daryl is a good guy, he awkwardly goes back to the group to return the medicine. When he tries to leave again, the Supposed Saviors return and try to cause more trouble.

Daryl decides to help protect Tina, Honey, and D from the Supposed Saviors. This decision builds a little bit of trust, but things don’t stay cool for long: One of the girls in the group is suddenly killed by a couple walkers.

In light of the loss, Daryl invites the remaining two characters to Alexandria after asking Rick’s three recruitment questions. “I’m from a place where [people are still good],” Daryl tells them. It’s nice to hear him voice his belief in Alexandria, as he’s usually one of the quieter ones.

Unfortunately, these people are total jerks — they leave Daryl for dead when the three of them come across the bike. Luckily Daryl quickly finds a van nearby and takes it back to where Abraham and Sasha are waiting, but not before he’s lost the two biggest loves of his life: His crossbow and his bike.

A new love

While separated from Daryl, Abraham reveals to Sasha he’s been meaning to make some big moves in life, and their current situation has offered him an opportunity: Why bother returning to Alexandria? Abraham knows Rick has the situation under control at the safe zone, and our favorite redhead doesn’t want to be involved with the group long-term.

Abraham invites Sasha along for this journey — he senses they have a mutual interest in one another, and he wants to start a life together. Aw!

Unfortunately for Abraham, Sasha is less interested in this idea. Luckily, neither of them have much time to discuss their disagreement, as Daryl shows up a bit later. It’s time to head back to Alexandria!

We’re sure Abraham’s aspirations will pop up again in the future, but for now, we’re glad he’s heading back to the safe zone. He’s obviously one of their tougher fighters thanks to his military background — an aspect of his life that was highlighted in 6×06 — and Rick needs Abraham on his side. Sasha is also an important player, and the two will rise in seniority for as long as Glenn is gone.

What will happen next week?

The mystery voice at the end of the episode certainly offers hope to people who think Glenn is alive. The big question is: Will the person behind the “help” be revealed next week? It looks like 6×07 will bring the focus back to Alexandria, so if Daryl, Abraham, and Sasha are on their way there, all the plot lines are about to merge and the voice will be addressed.
