We hope The Walking Dead season 6, episode 3 isn’t as brutal as last week’s installment.

Update: Welp, tonight’s episode of the show said farewell to a major character. Read our thoughts here!

No one was expecting last week’s episode of The Walking Dead to be so horrific, especially when you consider how great the season 6 premiere was the week before. If these two episodes are any indication of what lay ahead, it should be a great season for the apocalyptic drama.

The Walking Dead 6×03, titled “Thank You,” will bring the focus back to Rick and Michonne as they deal with their walker re-routing plan falling apart. In the premiere two weeks ago their plan started to unravel when a wolf drove a truck into an Alexandria wall and set off a loud, relentless horn.

It’ll be interesting to see where the storyline picks up from since episode 2 moved beyond the horn. Will we rewind a bit in the story to see how Rick and co. take care of the walkers who are being misguided by the horn? Or will we jump ahead to when they return to Alexandria?

A trailer for tonight’s new episode seems to suggest that we’ll be jumping backwards a bit to experience what Rick goes through as the walkers make their way toward the Alexandria Safe Zone:

A huge group of walkers were heading toward the safe zone when we last saw them in 6×01, so Rick, Michonne, Glenn, and the others will have their work cut out from them in “Thank You.”

Last week’s installment was one of our favorite episodes in recent memory, despite it being difficult to watch. A couple of highlights to remember: Carol disguised herself as a Wolf to fight the horrific group of enemies and may have permanently rid herself of the incapable-grandma act, while Morgan disagreed with how to get rid of the new foes. Not only did he want to kill them, he also seems to have a history with them.

We imagine the two separate storylines we’ve been watching will converge by next week’s episode. By then, Rick and Deanna will have a lot to figure out. The chief issues: How to get rid of the wolves and strengthen Alexandria’s security.

We’ve enjoyed seeing the show spread the characters across separate episodes. With so many leads in the show these days, it’s nice to see them all get their time to shine.

The Walking Dead 6×03 airs Sunday, October 25 on AMC.
