With the next The Walking Dead, which is 3×11 “I Ain’t a Judas,” less than a week away, we’ve got our hands on another sneak peek. Spoilers!

With Merle Dixon having helped Daryl save Rick from becoming walker food, we’re left wondering whether or not Merle will be joining the ranks at the prison or if he’ll be out before he knows it.

In the promo, Carol was seemingly urging Daryl to accept that his brother was not good for him, so perhaps Merle won’t become a permanent feature after all. Furthermore, having already grated on Daryl with his unwillingness to help anyone whom he might not make any personal gain from (the family with the baby on the bridge surrounded by walkers) maybe Daryl will realise that Merle isn’t the kind of man he wants to associate himself with.

In the sneak peek below, Merle describes the ruthlessness of The Governor to Hershel in a pretty blunt yet descriptive way.

See the sneak peek here:

Whilst what Merle is saying is quite gruesome (to say the least), maybe giving Hershel an idea of how The Governor works will make the prison group realise that the war is not over, and that they need to do some serious planning to help them withstand further attacks.

Merle has always been an uncouth, unsavoury individual without respect for other people’s thoughts, feeling or opinions, but maybe scare-mongering will do more harm than good? Or perhaps a dose of reality is what everyone at the prison needs right about now?

How do you think Glenn and Maggie will react to Merle’s presence in the prison? Glenn was pitted against a walker whilst taped to a chair at the hands of Merle. Will he be looking to settle the score, or will he turn the other cheek? Somehow given his emotional state since the torture incident, we doubt it!

A final thought: considering the fragile mental state Rick is in, the torment Merle suggests The Governor would inflict on him — having to watch his friends and family be killed around him — would be incredibly disturbing. If Rick has a touch of crazy about him, The Governor is stark-raving-bonkers!

Watch AMC’s The Walking Dead 3×11 “I Ain’t a Judas” on Sunday Feb 24, 9/8 ET/PT.
