The Walking Dead had us on the edge of our seats in the last episode, entitled “Home.” We’ve got our hands on a sneak peek for this week’s episode “I Ain’t a Judas.” Spoilers!

We’ve been watching anxiously as Rick’s mental state goes further and further into decline following the trauma of Lori’s death, as well as the demise of Shane, his best friend turned arch-rival. Not to mention the collapse of everything Rick has known and loved into zombie-filled chaos, of course.

Our once strong and stable leader, Rick promised the group earlier in the series that “this is not a democracy,” so what is to become of the “Ricktatorship” if our hero can’t handle the pressure anymore?

Watch the sneak peek below:

As Rick scours the prison’s surroundings with a pair of binoculars, he notices a figure disappear back into the tree line. Could this be Andrea? A member of Tyreese’s group? Or someone completely new to the series?

Approached by his son, Rick looks troubled and tells Carl that he “shouldn’t be out here,” presumably meaning out of the safer confines of the secured cell block. Carl, unfazed, brushes him off, and quips that he is a good shot, to which Rick agrees.

Carl then tells Rick that he has something he wants to say, but needs Rick to promise not to be angry. Rick agrees, and then Carl then says the words that no father or leader of a small group of survivors in a zombie apocalypse wants to hear (we assume)…

“You should stop… being the leader”

Rick looks staggered at this suggestion, but then Carl goes on to express the notion that with Daryl and Hershel, he needn’t worry. Moreover, Carl suggests that maybe Rick needs a break.

Maybe Carl has a point?

Rick hasn’t truly stopped since he woke up from a coma in hospital. Since then, he has perpetually been on the move, finding people, saving people, seeking safety in a world where the dead eat the living, and the living kill the living. Maybe Rick deserves the chance to unwind and let someone else take the strain of having the responsibility of so many lives on their shoulders?

Watch The Walking Dead 3×11 “I Ain’t a Judas” Sunday Feb 24, at 9/8 ET/PT on AMC.
