AMC released an “Inside The Walking Dead” video of the cast discussing their character’s and their progression. What happen’s if Rick can’t lead anymore?

Prior to the airing of The Walking Dead‘s tenth episode, AMC gave us a chance to get to know the character’s more through the eyes of the cast playing them. Having seen “Home,” what do you think is next for our protagonists?

Give it a watch here:

As you can see, every character in the show has changed and grown differently in the face of the zombie-apocalypse; some for the worse, but most for the better.

Steven Yeun spoke about Glenn’s development in terms of “growing up.” Glenn, once a pizza delivery boy before the dead started walking again, has been a scout, used for bait, but never the leader. However, following his torture session by Merle and The Governor in Woodbury, and in light of Rick’s mental breakdown, he’s bearing up to the responsibility of leading the group — although potentially to their detriment.

Glenn’s character is the most true to the comic book series, despite Robert Kirkman’s separation of the two story lines. Do you think Glenn could be the prison group’s salvation and answer in the face of Rick abdicating his role? Scott Wilson, who plays Hershel Greene, suggested that Glenn would not necessarily be the best choice as leader for a number of reason’s, and that despite Glenn being a clever young man he can’t “fill [Ricks’s] boots.”

Daryl Dixon, a fan favourite for the show, has also come a long way since his first appearance in The Walking Dead. Daryl started out with his brother Merle but, as Norman Reedus explains, being apart has given Daryl the chance to become the man he’s always wanted to be. Given his being reunited with Merle though, will he slip back, or maybe Merle will change with him for the better?

Finally Rick Grimes, our once courageous and strong leader of the survivor’s group, seems to have lost the plot slightly. As Andrew Lincoln notes, Rick has been through a lot recently, and he’s dealing with his grief in a slightly obscure way. He hasn’t had the time to stop and get his head around the loss of his wife, his best friend… his life. And it’s taking him some time to come to terms with everything going on around him.

On the upside, at least Rick seems to have snapped back to reality given the Governor’s onslaught. Do you think Rick will revert back to the strong and sturdy leader the prison group needs? Or will he have another dose of the crazies to come?

The Walking Dead is back next Sunday Feb 24 9/8 ET/PT on AMC.
