Season 3 winner Cassadee Pope returned to The Voice stage to perform her new single, and one contestant was sent packing on The Voice top 6 results show.

Team Blake’s family was finally broken up this week, as it came down to teammates Holly Tucker and The Swon Brothers in the bottom two this week. It was a no-win situation for Blake, and in the end, it was Holly Tucker who was eliminated. This means all four coaches are still in the game; although, it was a close call for season-one-winning coach Adam Levine, whose last remaining contestant, Amber Carrington, was in the bottom three. The odds are, we may see our first coach eliminated next week.

Last season’s champ Cassadee Pope showed the top 6 how it’s done with the debut performance of her new single, “Wasting All These Tears.” While her voice is still very reminiscent of Avril Lavigne, she’s stepped away from her former pop-punk style and is now focusing on country music. Whether this is due entirely to coach Blake’s influence or not, she’s certainly doing well so far, as “Wasting All These Tears” debuted at number one on the iTunes country charts.

Powerhouses Michelle Chamuel and Sasha Allen shared the very 80’s-tastic stage to perform Madonna’s hit “Open Your Heart.” The girls both sounded great, though they were both overpowered a bit by the backup singers on the chorus. Michelle’s and Sasha’s voices sounded good together, unlike some of the other pairings we’ve seen this season, and on top of that, they both seemed to have a great time onstage and really enjoy performing with one another.

Team Blake contestants Holly Tucker and The Swon Brothers took on The Wreckers’ “Leave The Pieces.” The vocals sounded good, but it’s always awkward when the Swons are paired with a female contestant to sing about love or heartbreak because it always comes across as some kind of awkward love triangle: one girl coming between brothers. Plus, the Swons are so much fun, and these group performances would be a great way to show that off.

The Voice’s youngest remaining contestants, Amber Carrington and Danielle Bradbery, sang The Bangles’ “Eternal Flame.” The performance was good, but rather unremarkable, as neither girl really went out of her way to make the song her own. They each had a big dramatic power note at the end, Amber first, then Danielle, and they both sang it exactly the same way. They don’t normally sound very similar, but in this duet, their voices blended a little too much.

Team Blake’s contestants Holly Tucker, Danielle Bradbery, and The Swon Brothers were joined by Team Usher’s Michelle Chamuel as they travelled to Oklahoma for the Healing the Heartland benefit concert Blake organized and hosted last week. The contestants toured the storm damage in Moore, OK, and were pretty emotional about what they saw.

They then traveled to the Chesapeake Energy Center, where they sang the national anthem for the crowd of 20,000, and later performed Brooks and Dunn’s “Play Something Country” with their coaches. It was quite an opportunity for the contestants, and they helped raise $6 million for a great cause.

Tune in next Monday at 8/7c on NBC to see the top 5 contestants perform in the semifinals.
