For the first time in The Voice history, eliminated contestants have the chance to compete in the finals as a wildcard.

Here we are again, folks. We are getting down to the wire on season 7 of The Voice, and the contestants will really have to pull out all the stops at this point, in order to bring home a win. Especially since one of their competitors will be entering the competition again.

Wildcard

In a Voice first, some previously-eliminated contestants will return to compete for a wildcard spot in the finals. It’s great to see The Voice taking a cue from other reality competitions and allowing some prematurely-eliminated fan favorites to return. Sadly, Taylor Phelan is not eligible to come back as a wildcard, so does it even matter?

Blake takes the stage

Everyone’s favorite drunk country heckler will take his act to the stage tonight, to perform “Lonely Tonight,” his duet with Ashley Monroe. The romantic duet about forbidden love is pretty risky for the married Shelton, but Ashley is actually pals (and Pistol Annies bandmates) with Blake’s wife, Miranda Lambert, so everything seems pretty kosher.

As a reminder, these are our season 7 semifinalists:

Team Adam: Chris Jamison, Damien, Matt McAndrew

Team Gwen: Taylor John Williams

Team Blake: Craig Wayne Boyd

Who will survive this week’s eliminations and make it to the next round?
