Fans will be getting double The Voice (U.S.) this year, following NBC’s decision to feature the singing competition in the spring and fall cycles. But that could mean losing the current hosts next year.

As Vulture reports, NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt isn’t sure if Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera will be available for The Voice‘s spring cycle in 2013.

“We’ve got deals and options on all of them for the next two cycles,” he said in a conference call Sunday. “But they are all such busy, working musicians…. Their schedules start to back up on each other. We don’t know yet whether it will make sense for them to do two cycles.”

Would The Voice still be The Voice without Adam, Blake, Cee Lo and Christina? We suggest rotating coaches – four in the spring and a different four in the fall – because we’ve grown attached to the current coaches (yes, even Christina) but understand that they have musical careers of their own.

UPDATE: Season 3 of The Voice kicks off Sept. 9, Greenblatt said Monday.
