The playoff round continues this week on The Voice, with contestants from Team Shakira, Team Adam, and Team Usher taking the stage to prove to their coaches that they are worth taking to the live shows.
We’ve already seen Team Blake compete in the playoffs last week, after which Coach Blake chose Sisaundra Lewis, Audra McLaughlin, and Jake Worthington to move on to the next round. But who will be joining them next week?
As it stands after the battles, the remaining teams are as follows:
Team Shakira: Tess Boyer, Deja Hall, Kristen Merlin, Patrick Thomson, Dani Moz
Team Adam: Delvin Choice, Christina Grimmie, Morgan Wallen, Jake Barker, Kat Perkins
Team Usher: Stevie Jo, Josh Kaufman, T.J. Wilkins, Melissa Jimenez, Bria Kelly
Taking a look at clips from this week’s playoffs, we see that the coaches really have their work cut out for them, choosing to eliminate two of their most talented contestants.
In a preview, we see Shakira really struggling with a decision, while Adam, never one to hesitate to give his opinion, tells her that she cannot let a particular contestant go. But Adam gets his later on, when Usher has a great comeback for one of his smart remarks.
In another video, Blake commends a contestant for a great performance, and for staying on rhythm in spite of the clapping audience that completely lacks rhythm.
When each coach reaches the moment of truth, of revealing the contestants that will be moving on to the next round, they each handle it in their own typical way: Shakira falls all over herself telling her team how much she loves each of them, Adam explains the reasoning behind his decision, and Usher cuts right to the chase.
