The Veronica Mars Movie has wrapped production after a marathon 23 day shoot for the Warner Bros. film.

Executive producer and creator Rob Thomas emailed Kickstarter backers early this morning saying that at 4:34 am the team wrapped production of Veronica Mars. He wanted to include backers on the historic event, the end of the shoot for the Kickstarter backed film.

Thomas detailed the post-production process for the next few months which will include editing the film, working on music, sound mixing and more. Thomas promised to continue to update Kickstarter backers and to create more special content for the fans.

Thomas gave a little peek at the environment on set and how grateful the cast and crew were to the fans, saying, “And before that: thank you, once more, for making this all happen. Spending the past month seeing old friends, and revisiting characters who we’ve never been able to let go, has been a gift — for me, for Kristen, and for many other people. You’ve given us something special. We won’t forget it, and we can’t wait to return the favor.”

As fans are well aware, most of the original series cast has returned to reprise their roles with Kristen Bell, Jason Dohring, Percy Daggs III, Tina Majorino, Ryan Hansen, Chris Lowell, Enrico Colantoni, Francis Capra, and more starring in The Veronica Mars Movie.

Veronica Mars recently headed down to Comic-Con and wowed fans with a sneak peek at a sizzle reel and a couple of exclusive scenes. The team had the crowd in Hall H and in the night fan event eating out of the palm of their hand and wanting to know more about the behind-the-scenes details of shooting the television series and film.

Veronica Mars primarily shot in Los Angeles and is due to be released in early 2014 by Warner Bros.
