The Veronica Mars Movie is bringing back fan favorite Percy Daggs who played Wallace Fennel on the UPN and CW Show.

Executive producer and creator Rob Thomas announced to Kickstarter backers today that Percy Daggs would be officially joining the film and would be reprising his role as Wallace, Veronica’s (Kristen Bell) best friend throughout the series. In the series, Wallace stands by Veronica and serves as someone on whom she can always rely. According to Thomas, “And now that he’s officially signed, I can admit that there was never a version of the script that didn’t include him. It just wouldn’t happen.” Daggs filmed a video to the fans to show his excitement about joining the film’s cast.

Thomas also revealed that next week will be full of casting announcements so stay tuned for more fan favorites returning to the movie. Jason Dohring, Kristen Bell, Percy Daggs, the $10,000 Kickstarter backer, and Enrico Colantoni are officially signed on to the film. Dohring played Logan Echolls on the series while Colantoni played Veronica’s father Keith.

Max Greenfield has previously tweeted that he would love to be a part of the project while Ryan Hansen appeared in the Kickstarter video. Francis Capra has also previously tweeted cryptic messages about The Veronica Mars Movie.

Are you excited to have Wallace join Veronica and the crew? What do you think of Dagg’s video? Who else do you want to see in The Veronica Mars Movie? Will you join the Neptune gang at Comic Con for their previously announced fan event?

The Veronica Mars Movie begins filming June 17 in Los Angeles.
