The Vampire Diaries actress Torrey DeVitto talks about Meredith’s choice to save Elena, and what we can expect when Doctor Fell returns in season 4.
In the video released by The CW, DeVitto reminds viewers what part Meredith played in turning Elena into a vampire in the season 3 finale: when Elena had hurt herself, Meredith had used vampire blood to heal her injury. Then, when Elena drowned, the vampire blood still in her system triggered the transformation.
She also confirms that Meredith will be back in season 4 of The Vampire Diaries, and says that she is excited about the role the character will play.

The Vampire Diaries returns October 11 on The CW. Several new characters will be joining the show, including Grace Phipps and David Alpay, and it looks like there will be another upheaval of the central romances.
