The Vampire Diaries season 3 finale is nearing, and we’re starting to get an idea about what’s going to go down based on some spoilers from Candice Accola!

Candice has been making her way around the news sites, giving various interviews about the impending finale (of doom, it seems). To both TV Line and TV Guide, she hints as to what’s going to happen now that the Originals are all sires of some of the characters. She says:

The theme of mortality definitely rings true throughout the remaining episodes of the season,”Who’s willing to sacrifice their lives for the greater good? […] They have be much more strategic about it. That’s the big argument — who’s going to be sacrificed at this point? Everyone’s going to be paired up [with an Original] and we’re going to see who’s willing.

Willing to be sacrificed?! Plus, Candice is making it sound like there’s more to it than just Tyler being sired by someone other than everyone else, isn’t she? And considering that we know that Tyler survives this season, who would be left to sacrifice?

Speaking to Zap2It, Candice also teases tomorrow night’s return of Tyler:

He’s been working on trying to break the sire bond that he has with Klaus, so when he comes back to town we’re going to see if he was successful or if he was not, and it’s going to be put to the test. We’re going to hear about his experiences that he’s had, and we’re going to hear about his trip. Caroline and Tyler fans, I think, will be very happy with this reunion… for a little while.

For a little while? We’ll take it! Finally, she talks about Caroline’s complicated relationship with Klaus, and why he might be a bit of a temptation despite everything he’s done:

She likes to be very safe. She’s safe within her bubble in Mystic Falls, and she could never dream of going anywhere else, but the viewers have seen her grow into such a strong character. Then you bring in Klaus, who has lived out every dream and every fantasy and has been around for such a long time, and who still, at the core, wants the same thing that Caroline wants — just to be loved.
