We have entered single digits in our countdown to The Vampire Diaries season 6, and if you need a little tease to whet your appetite, check out the first two clips from the premiere episode, “Remember When.”
It’s not easy to miss that our first looks at The Vampire Diaries season 6 are surprisingly lacking the brothers Salvatore. Neither the still-breathing-vampire Stefan, nor the not-so-alive Damon do not factor in to the two clips below, and we can’t help but wonder if their absence says more about them than if they were present.
The first clip shows Alaric (yay!!) back in front of the classroom doing what he does best. We love seeing our resident invulnerable vampire getting his teacher on, and this time his audience seems a little more interested than the history classes of yesteryear.

The second clip presents none other than our favorite blonde immortal and her Sheriff mother. Caroline and Sheriff Forbes take a little picnic lunch opportunity to talk about how everyone is grieving over the loss of Bonnie and Damon.

Well, if that doesn’t have you drooling over the possibilities that season 6 has to offer, we’re not sure what will. Knowing that Elena has grieved more for Bonnie than for Damon certainly hints that somehow Elena refuses to admit that Damon is gone for good. This is backed by the trailer that we saw a few weeks ago that has Elena using witchy drugs to hallucinate the departed Salvatore.
