A second sneak peek for The Vampire Diaries season 5, episode 1 “I Know What You Did Last Summer” reveals how Jeremy has been keeping Bonnie’s death a secret.
The Vampire Diaries season 5 finally premieres this week! Are you excited?
A few days ago we posted the first sneak peek from the season 5 premiere episode “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” in which Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) prepare to say goodbye before she leaves for college.
Now, TV Guide has released a second sneak peek, showing Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) discussing how to break the news to the others that Bonnie has died:
In the clip, Jeremy speaks to Bonnie’s ghost about how to answer a text message, and Bonnie tells him to keep lying about her being dead.
She tries to reassure him by touching his arm, but of course Jeremy can’t feel that. There is clearly tension between the pair, though we still don’t know whether the Jeremy/Bonnie romance will resurface or if they’ll continue calling each other “best friends.”
Jeremy also makes reference to being, “The freak who faked his own death,” which explains how he can be back at school despite dying last year.
The CW has also released four new character posters via their official Facebook page, showing Matt (Zach Roerig), Caroline (Candice Accola), Bonnie and Jeremy:
