The Vampire Diaries season 4 premiere is hours away, but now you can see an image and video from a future episode in which we flash back to the Originals’ past!

EW has posted the following image, presumably from the fourth episode of season 4, “The Five,” which shows Elijah and Klaus dressed up in 12th century garb:

Although the picture shows only Elijah and Klaus, this episode is shaping up to be very Rebekah-centric. In this episode, which will air on November 1, Paul Telfer will also guest star. The actor plays a role in revealing more about Rebekah’s past; in the present time, the character will be struggling to make amends with Matt.

EW also has a video interview withThe Vampire Diaries costume designer Leigh Leverett. Talking about Klaus’ and Elijah’s costumes, that seem to indicate a great deal of wealth, Leverett says, “A lot of the pieces from that period more were tunic style, and they would fit a little bit baggier. But I don’t think Klaus would be caught dead in a baggy thing no matter what period it is, so we tightened it up and just made it look a little more like something Klaus would have had made for himself.”

The Vampire Diaries airs tonight at 8/7c. The premiere episode of season 4 is entitled “Growing Pains,” and will focus on Elena as she makes her transition into a vampire. Stefan, Bonnie and Jeremy will all be working to prevent it – but we already know that they’re going to fail.

Now, Elena will have a lot more power, but also a whole new set of problems as her bloodlust might prove too much to handle! In an interview, Nina Dobrev has previewed Elena’s struggle choosing between Damon’s approach to blood drinking and Stefan’s “bunny diet.”

Don’t forget to tune in and watch the episode live on The CW to boost those all-important ratings!
