See an ominous poster for The Vampire Diaries and a new sneak peek for Thursday’s episode “Down the Rabbit Hole.”

Following the first sneak peek released for the next episode of The Vampire Diaries, the CW has released a second clip, which shows Elena on the phone with Caroline:

In the video, Elena tells Caroline that Jeremy, Bonnie and Shane have all gone missing, and that she thinks Damon might have been taken captive. Then Elena asks Caroline to help get the sword from Klaus – and she doesn’t even bother asking him before heading out the door. We’ve got a feeling she’ll need his help eventually though. But will Klaus actually tell Caroline where the sword is hidden, or is Rebekah right about him?

A new poster has also been released, which hints at something bad happening to Elena:

What with the cast teasing a big, game changing death, this poster has us worried! Could it actually be Elena (like some of the Vampire Hype podcast hosts think)? Or does the line “Humanity was the only thing she hadn’t lost” refer to her only tie to her human life – Jeremy – being severed?
