Salvatore and co. are taking a well deserved break for Thanksgiving, so The Vampire Diaries will not be airing a new episode, tonight.
When we last left our favorite vampires and Matt Donovan, they’d just realized that Josie and Lizzie’s “hot” nanny was actually more of an “evil cannibalistic siren” nanny. Unfortunately, they couldn’t put the pieces together before Seline took the twins to her master, Cade.

According to the trailer for The Vampire Diaries season 8, episode 6, “Detoured on Some Random Backwoods Path to Hell,” (either the best or the worst episode title ever), the episode will deal with the aftermath of their discovery.
Josie and Lizzie are Gemini twins, meaning they have the potential to be very powerful witches/siphons. So far, we haven’t seen much of what they can do, so now that they’re in danger, this could be their chance to shine. Hopefully, Seline and Cade haven’t gotten into their heads too much already, though.
We know that Caroline and Alaric will be frantically searching for their daughters, but we’re not sure what Damon’s role in the kidnapping will be. His alliance is to Sybil, who may actually be working against her sister. Whatever their missions are, they’ll likely become a lot more clear in The Vampire Diaries season 8, episode 6.
The next episode of The Vampire Diaries is sure to be extra special, as it was directed by Paul Wesley, who plays Stefan Salvatore on the show! “Detoured on Some Random Backwoods Path to Hell,” will be the fifth episode of the series that Wesley has directed, with the last one being “Requiem for a Dream,” in The Vampire Diaries season 7.
