The Vampire Diaries‘ third season premiered last night, followed by the pilot of The Secret Circle! And in terms of ratings, both shows were very well received.
The Hollywood Reporter writes that while The Vampire Diaries‘ 3 million viewers showed a slight decline from last year’s premiere, the ratings were higher than for the season 2 finale.
The Secret Circle followed The Vampire Diaries, and actually had a few thousand more viewers than its lead-in. Whether this is an indication for future trends or due to general curiosity about a new series, time will tell. But for the CW, both shows did very well, which is a promising start!
