Bonnie’s life is on the line yet again in The Vampire Diaries season 7, episode 19, “Somebody That I Used to Know.” How will Damon, Enzo and Rayna help her beat death this time?
If anybody knows a thing or two about dying, it’s Bonnie Bennett. Therefore, if anybody is going to fight for their life, it’s Bonnie Bennett! There is no known antidote for the pills that have been poisoning her, but don’t count her out yet.
The trailer for The Vampire Diaries season 7, episode 19, shows Bonnie, Enzo, Damon and Rayna all working together! It’s nice that everyone is banding together to save her, but that’s definitely a group that we didn’t expect. Here’s what we think everyone’s roles could be in the quest to save the Bennett witch.
Bonnie
So Bonnie has a pretty obvious stake in saving Bonnie’s life. When we’ve seen her die in the past, it has usually been a form of sacrifice for the people she loves. This is really the first time we’ll get to see her fight to stay alive.
The downside is, we’ll probably have to see her do it without her powers, since the pills have suppressed her magic. On the other hand, how badass does she look with that wooden bullet gun? On top of doing whatever it takes to find an antidote, Bonnie will also have to decide if Damon’s friendship is worth her remaining time, or not.
Damon
Even though Bonnie’s death would mean a more animated Elena, Damon will be fighting right alongside Bonnie, whether he’s wanted or not. This will be Damon’s chance to prove to Bonnie that he’s sorry for abandoning her, but will she take the bait?
Damon and Enzo have had a tumultuous relationship for quite a while now. The question is, will they be united in a common goal, or pushed further apart in a fight for Bonnie’s attention?
Enzo
The Vampire Diaries season 7, episode 19, could finally be the shining moment Enzo has been waiting for since his introduction. We will finally get to see how he and Bonnie fell in love over the course of the three year time jump. Will he be able to make the viewers fall for him the same way that Bonnie did? Based on fan’s generally negative opinion of him, he has a large chasm to leap.
His motivations to save Bonnie are as strong as anyone’s, since we’re lead to believe that he’s in love with her, and also because it’s kind of his fault that she’s in this mess! He gave her the pills that have been slowly poisoning her, so he will likely be feeling a lot of pressure to find an antidote.
Hopefully, his connection to the Armory will come in handy. They are the ones who made the pills, and they still want Bonnie, so he may be able to work out some sort of deal with them. Alexandria did say that there was no antidote, but she hasn’t done anything that would really make us trust her.
Rayna
The most interesting piece to this puzzle is Rayna Cruz. The pills were made out of her blood, and she seemed to have some knowledge that they would be poisonous to witches, so if anybody knows something, it’s going to be her.
In the trailer, Bamon is taking down Rayna’s enemies for her. If she does know something more, she could have worked out a deal with Bonnie, Damon and Enzo for their help in exchange for her knowledge. However, she seemed pretty certain that there was no antidote, so hopefully she’s not just using them in their desperate time.
