At last night’s live broadcast, The Sims 3 team announced the Into the Future expansion pack alongside a movie stuff pack, both due to release in fall of this year.

The Into the Future expansion will allow players to send their Sims into a futuristic world, Arcadia Landing, which features jet packs, hoverboards, monorails, and food synthesisers. Futuristic décor has also been added.

You will also be able to create your own “Plumbots” using the new Create A Bot feature. Your Sims’ actions in the present will affect the “way of life” for future generations of Sims.

Into the Future will be the eleventh and almost certainly the final expansion pack for The Sims 3.

The Sims 3: Into the Future releases in North America on October 22, and Europe on October 25.

In addition to the Into the Future expansion, the live broadcast brought the reveal of the next stuff pack for The Sims 3: Movie Stuff.

The stuff pack will add new clothing, objects and hairstyles covering three distinct themes of movies. The trailer focuses on the Western themed elements that are to be added with this stuff pack, but also mentions the other two genres of movie to get The Sims treatment: horror and heroes and villains.

The Sims 3: Movie Stuff Pack will release on September 10.

The full live broadcast, which includes a demo of upcoming expansion Island Paradise and a chat with the Lead Concept Designer of The Sims 4, should be uploaded to the official The Sims YouTube channel later today.

Elsewhere in The Sims world, excitement is building ahead of the Gamescom showing of The Sims 4, where it is likely we’ll see a first trailer for the long awaited sequel, in addition to its first gameplay details. The Sims 4 is scheduled to release in 2014.
