Just the other day Thomas Dekker and Phoebe Tonkin sounded off on what their ultimate Halloween scary movies were. Now it’s Jessica Parker Kennedy’s turn.

Thomas Dekker went with the old-school, classic, Poltergeist, while Phoebe Tonkin picked a more recent classic, Child’s Play. Jessica Parker Kennedy was stuck between two choices.

I love scary movies!!! My two favorites are pretty neck and neck, “The Orphanage” and “The Strangers.” I love “The Orphanage” because the concept is so cool and the story is told in such an interesting way. It’s a movie that will scare your socks off, but make you cry at the end. It’s one of the most tragic movies I’ve ever watched and is truly heartbreaking and scary at the same time. The film is also shot beautifully with amazing cinematography.

“The Strangers,” on the other hand, is just good old-fashioned scary fun. It’s a really well-made thriller, the kind of movie that makes you scream out loud. I’ve seen it twice and both times I’ve had to leave my bedroom light on for the next couple of nights. One of my biggest fears is thinking that there are people in my house when I’m home alone. Well, in this movie there are three people…with masks…and knives. The best and worst part is that they are eerily calm and undetectable. You leave the room for a minute or two and when you go back, your cell phone is burning up in the fireplace. The most effectively unsettling part for me is when the song playing way too loudly on the record player starts skipping and scratching, and you know you didn’t do it. Scariest thing I’ve ever heard!!
