Fans of The Secret Circle can now get news for the show on their iPhones and iPads. The news bodes well for a series renewal.
According to Home Media Magazine, showrunner Andrew Miller commented,
We’re so excited about the launch of this app. We wanted to give something back to the fans and thought that being able to channel your inner witch and earn power badges or read the Book of Shadows on your iPhone was a pretty cool way to do it. I love how it turned out — it’s a great way to experience the show a little deeper.

According to the official description,
The Secret Circle app takes fans deep inside the wonder of the popular series on The CW. Cast spells and earn powers in the Magic Memory Game, read the witches’ private diaries in the Book of Shadows, watch episode previews and view exclusive photos!

Though there has been no official press release from the CW, this news seems a likely indicator that The Secret Circle will be renewed. It would be a stunningly bad PR decision to create an app, launch it in May, and then cancel the show.
