We’ve been wondering what John Blackwell’s end game is since he first made an appearance on The Secret Circle. We all know he’s manipulative, but what exactly is the master plan?

In interviews with both EW and TV Guide, executive producer Andrew Miller talks about Blackwell’s end game and how the characters will never be the same after tonight’s season finale which airs at 9/8C.

From EW:

“…Blackwell got his hands on the final crystal needed to make the Crystal Skull, which he insists is the only way the Circle can defeat the Witch Hunters. “There is an extremely diabolical next phase to Blackwell’s plans that the kids aren’t privy to, that Faye’s kidnapping has something to do with,” Miller teases. By the end of the hour, we will know Blackwell’s true intentions. “He’s a complicated guy, to say the least. But we’ll completely understand why he’s in Chance Harbor and what he wants, and the viewers can decide just how evil or not evil they think he is,” Miller says. “And Cassie will make that decision very clearly.”

From TV Guide:

You previously mentioned that Cassie will have to finish what her mother started 16 years ago. Does that mean taking out John Blackwell? Or will she end up making the same mistakes again?

Miller: Stopping John Blackwell is what Amelia was trying to do 16 years ago and failed, and it’s what Cassie needs to do now. How to stop him is the problem, and ultimately, wanting to stop him is an even bigger problem because she has no other family. When she started the season, she was down one parent, still had a grandmother, and now she’s lost that. And by the end of [last week’s episode], she may have lost her Circle family, and John Blackwell is the only thing she’s got left. Whether she wants to admit it or not, he’s a part of her. Their blood, distasteful as it may be or dark as it may be, flows in the same color and direction. Amelia was close to Blackwell through love, and Cassie’s close to John Blackwell in a much more intense way, which is blood and family, which is where the episode title comes from. So it’s not just how to kill him, but it’s if she has to or wants to.

Additionally, in both interviews Miller confirms that no decision has yet been made about the show’s season 2 future. He also repeats the information that we brought to you yesterday that if renewed, the storylines will take a new angle.

What do you think Blackwell’s exact endgame is?
