We’ve got an exclusive clip from ABC’s The Real O’Neals — watch as Kenny is taken to his first gay neighborhood and he questions what a “gay cafe” is really like.

For those of you unfamiliar with the show, The Real O’Neals is a new ABC comedy that’s about, as the title would suggest, the O’Neal family. Once thought to be the picture perfect family of their church community, the pilot outed them all. Kenny came out to his parents, and the rest of the world, as gay while his parents revealed they were getting a divorce; Kenny’s brother admitted to an eating disorder, and his sister was revealed to be all about cons.

The series has seen Kenny explore his newly found openness with his sexuality, and his parents have been supporting him the whole way. In this week’s episode, Kenny’s dad, Pat, takes him to the gay neighborhood in town and to a gay-friendly cafe. But Kenny’s got some questions about what exactly a gay cafe might have to offer.

We love that Kenny’s dad is so accepting that he helps take Kenny around to the gay neighborhood in town, and Kenny’s impression of what a gay cafe is like is hysterical just like all of his other first impressions of things. The Real O’Neals is one of our favorite new sitcoms of the season and it’s because of scenes like this — they’re so ridiculous and outrageous that it’s hard not to laugh with.

In addition to that scene we’ve got another exclusive look at what Kenny’s first Gay Straight Alliance meeting, but it’s not nearly as gay as you might expect.

It seems like Kenny is never going to get away from those with overly personal questions about his lifestyle — but we’re okay with that because it just means more comedy for us.

‘The Real O’Neals’ returns Tuesday, April 19 at 8:30 p.m. on ABC
