We have our final three paladins! Now only one of them can be the One True Hero and save Everrealm from Verlox and his forces. Who will it be?

Only one will face Verlox. There is only One True Hero. The only question remaining is: Who? Will it be Lina, Andrew or Shondo? Check out our recap of the season 1 finale of The Quest below:

The Final Challenge

On their way to the final challenge, a rider happens upon the paladins. Ansgar creates a diversion and fights the many soldiers that quickly come upon him. The paladins, Crio, and the Queen run off to find the Fates and complete the quest. The Fates appear around a bend as the paladins enter the Hall of Fates in the daytime for the first time.

The Fates tell the paladins that two of them will fail, and only one will face Verlox as the One True Hero. Crio and the Queen leave the hall and the paladins to their fate.

The Task

The three paladins race from the hall and quickly mount horses. Each must follow a marked path to a final task.

When they arrive, they must cut down vines to release a map. Shondo is the first to find his and he quickly takes the lead as he races through the forest to the next part of the final task. Lina is second and she quickly takes off.

Shondo arrives at the second stage and he must balance the scales in front of him. Lina arrives close behind him and quickly begins work on her task.

Andrew takes the longest, but he finally finds his map on the ground and begins the second stage as well.

Lina is the first to balance the scales and takes off for the next part of their quest. Andrew is next and he takes off not too far behind her.

The third part of the task is to weave a chain through some metal loops on a door and set a trap for an ogre. Only the first two to finish will continue on in hopes of becoming the One True Hero.

Andrew, in a blind panic, does not read the instructions fully and returns to the previous stage to find the chain for his ogre trap. He doesn’t see any chains, so he returns to the third stage, however, he still does not read the instructions fully. The chain had to weave back and forth. Shondo arrives and begins work on the task.

While the boys remain behind, Lina races off to the final part of the task. Armed with a bow and arrow, she must hit a target and release a bridge to cross the water. If she is the first, she will become the One True Hero.

Her first arrow is just off target, and her second and third arrows are wildly off the mark. Andrew finishes the ogre trap before Shondo, and he races off to try and beat Lina to the bullseye. Shondo disappears from the ogre trap stage, and reappears in the Hall of Fates. He places his piece of the sunspear in the altar and leaves the hall just as the other nine paladins had before him. He has been banished from Everrealm.

And then there were two…

Lina is still trying desperately to hit her bullseye as Andrew arrives on the scene. Before he can shoot a single arrow, Lina finally lands hers in the bullseye and Andrew immediately disappears from the scene. He, too, reappears in the Hall of Fates. He places his piece of the sunspear in the altar and leaves Everrealm as the last paladin to be banished.

And the One True Hero is…

Lina!! She crosses the bridge and soon finds herself on a path winding through the forest to the Hall of Fates. She approaches the Fates and presents them with her piece of the sunspear. She places her piece in the final place on the altar and the sunspear is assembled and ready for her to battle Verlox.

Lina raises the Sunspear above her head and each of the banished paladins return to the Hall of Fates to follow her into battle. Sir Ansgar then appears and offers his sword to the battle as well. He tells them to stay close. He and the paladins are going to create a diversion while Lina takes the sunspear through the secret passageway back to the castle.

Back to Castle Saenctum

Lina arrives back to the castle just as the other paladins begin fighting the guards on the bridge. She races to enter the castle grounds. Following Ansgar’s lead, she makes her way to Verlox’s throne room where the Queen and Crio are being held captive. Crio yells for her to trust herself and the prophecy. Verlox asks for her to hand over the sunspear, but instead she squares herself and begins fighting him. She lands many blows on his staff, weakening him, but once he goes down, she uses the power of the sunspear to vanquish him once and for all. He blows up Voldemort-style and Everrealm is once again safe.

Lina leads the paladins out of the castle grounds to tumultuous applause from the residents of Castle Saenctum. They are all then released from their quest and return to their world. Before the season wraps up, the Vizier is released, making us wonder if maybe he could be the next great evil to hit Everrealm? Only time (and season 2?!) will tell.
