The paladins found themselves trapped and looking for a way out in the first hour of tonight’s two-hour block of The Quest. Find out who was banished and who made the final three!

Only 4 remain…

Shondo, Patrick, Andrew, and Lina are the final four remaining paladins, and as the dawn breaks on a new day, they are exhausted and ready to finish this quest. As the Queen arrives, enemy forces sneak out of the woods and quickly overcome our small band.

The Rana warriors bind each of the paladins’ hands and takes them to the Rana leader for judgement. The Queen addresses the chief and apologizes for trespassing on their land. When the chief asks why he should believe that any of the remaining paladins will be able to defeat Verlox, Lina bravely steps up to speak up and defend herself. The chief then allows each of the remaining paladins to address him, and while some were more eloquent than others (Patrick was particularly convincing), it may not have meant much. As soon as he finished, the man to his left that had donned a deceiving hood unveiled his face and revealed that he is the Queen’s Vizier.

Loyalty is suspect

As soon as the Vizier reveals himself, Ansgar goes berserk and tries to get free to hurt him. The Vizier sends them to be locked away as prisoners. Each of the paladins is locked in an individual cage that hangs off the ground. The Queen, Ansgar, and Crio are locked together in a cell on the ground.

Ansgar soon looses hope that the prophecy would ever help. The Queen is distraught to hear that he has admitted defeat. The Queen asks the paladins if they have given up, and they all tell her no. Each of them begins looking around to figure out how to get out of their cages. At the bottom of each cage is a length of rope, and if they loop it around a pillar nearby, they can reach a sharp object to cut themselves out of their cages. Each of them begins frantically to try and lasso their post.

Who will free themselves first?

Andrew gets his lasso around the post and frees himself very quickly. He then hands each paladin their own knife, and then goes to help Crio, Ansgar, and the Queen. Once everyone is free, they begin fleeing from the camp. Riders follow them on the hunt for their escaped prisoners, and the paladins quickly hide the Queen and themselves.

Ansgar intends to take them to the camp they built and hid during last week’s episodes, but before they can make it there, they hear hooves again on the road. They hurry to hide the Queen again inside the shelter, and just in time, they all make it out of sight.

Crio says they need to go to the bog, where a banshee lives. Crio believes that they can convince the banshee to let them pass. Despite the danger, Andrew is awarded the Mark of strength by Sir Ansgar, and they wait for sundown to make their way to the Hall of Fates.

Once it’s dark, Ansgar fetches the paladins and takes them to see the Fates once again. Since Andrew completed the task earlier that day, he will not face the Fates challenge, but Shondo, Patrick, and Lina will be forced to compete to save themselves from banishment.

The banshee is their test. Crio, Ansgar, and the Queen lead Lina, Shondo, and Patrick from the Hall of Fates to the bog where the banshee resides. Each paladin must cross a precarious bridge over water and bring an offering to the banshee. The paladin that does so first will be safe from banishment.

Crossing the bridge

At Crio’s word, each paladin takes a palette and fills it with fruit. While Patrick and Shondo seem to want to rely on speed to get themselves to their goal first, Lina believes that remaining slow and steady will win her the race. Lina was almost to the banshee when she dropped her offering and was forced to restart.

Lina returns to the start, but does so without her tray, which she then had to go find in the bog. Shondo is the first to reach the banshee with the offering, and after she accepts his gift, he returns to the others. Ansgar says that the banshee has accepted Shondo’s offering, and they must now return to the Hall of Fates so that Lina and Patrick can face the final decision which remains in the hands of Shondo and Andrew.

And the banished paladin is…

Shondo and Andrew debate which paladin deserves to remain in Everrealm more. Andrew has developed an attachment to Lina, but they know that she may not be the one who deserves to continue. Andrew chooses to stand behind Lina, and Shondo chooses Patrick. The tie means that Andrew must now choose between the two because he won the Mark earlier in the day.

After a short time, Andrew chooses to keep Lina in the competition, leaving Patrick to be banished. Lina hugs Patrick and joins Shondo and Andrew as they leave the Hall of Fates. Patrick puts his piece of sunspear in the altar and leaves the hall in a puff of smoke.

Lina knows that she was kept because she’s less of a threat, but she believes that she will hopefully have a good chance to put these boys in their place and become the One True Hero.

Who will be the One True Hero?
