The five remaining paladins race off into the night after Sir Ansgar takes off. What has happened? Find out in our recap of tonight’s second hour!

A loud noise roused Sir Ansgar and the paladins, and as they race out of camp to see what is making the racket, a shocking sight lies before them.

A DRAGON

They spot a dragon attacking one of their outposts and the Queen wants to protect those that might be there. She insists that she will be safe if they come with her. They march all night long on their journey to the outpost. When they arrive, they see a structure burned and wrecked and found two survivors who told the paladins that the dragon retreated to its cave just before dawn.

The Queen insists that they follow the dragon to its lair. They arrive and find a clearing covered in smoke. The paladins must close the dragon’s cage and trap it before night falls. They can accomplish this task by putting together a cog puzzle and using the puzzle to lower the gate.

Caging the dragon

Each paladin finds bags of pieces and begin working to place their pieces as fast as they can. Some work at their task faster than other, and soon Lina, Bonnie, and Andrew have gears in place working toward their winch. However, they each soon find their own mistakes and some are forced to disassemble parts of their puzzle to make it work. Shondo and Andrew are the first to get the winch working, and begin cranking as fast as they can to lower the cage. Patrick isn’t far behind. Andrew is the first to close his gate and insert the pin to latch the gate.

Ansgar sends Shondo and Andrew to help the others. Andrew discovers that Lina didn’t have both of her bags, and sends her to fetch her last bag. Bonnie gets hers closed in plenty of time, and after all five of them work together, they get Lina’s gate closed as well.

Crio arrives to tell them the Queen is safe, and all seven of them race out of the clearing and back to the Queen’s camp. Patrick, Lina, and Bonnie will be facing the Fates challenge.

Andrew is awarded the Mark of Bravery when they make it back to camp, and then they all begin camouflaging the camp.

The paladins tell Ansgar and Crio that they suspect the Vizier of less than trustworthy tactics, and they are not happy to hear it. Ansgar isn’t happy to hear it, but he also hears them out. The Queen arrives abruptly and tells all of them that the villagers have found dragon’s eggs in their settlement. Crio and Ansgar lead the entire group to the Hall of Fates to see what they should do to get rid of the eggs.

The Fates Challenge

The group, including the Queen and Sir Ansgar, arrive at the Hall of Fates. The Fates tell Patrick, Bonnie, and Lina that they succeeded in stopping evil from rising today, but sometimes its better to stop evil before it ever gets a chance to rise.

The three paladins arrive in a different clearing and see three pits containing three dragon’s eggs. Each paladin must use whatever materials are present to get their egg to the surface. The dragon egg will burn their skin if they touch it, so they cannot just grab the egg.

Lina and Patrick pull out in front as all three paladins use pieces of wood to inch the egg higher and higher through the cage bars. They are neck and neck as they rise to the top of their pits, and just as Lina is about to push hers out, it tumbles down to bottom again. Patrick is the first to succeed. He will be safe from banishment.

Lina and Bonnie will face the final decision as Shondo, Patrick, and Andrew choose who they think should continue on the Quest to become the One True Hero.

And the banished paladin is…

Each of the guys takes their place behind the paladin they believe should continue the Quest, and when they turn around, Lina and Bonnie see that the paladin with two votes, and therefore the one that will be staying, is Lina. Shondo chose Lina’s physical prowess over Bonnie’s heart, and Bonnie gives Patrick and Lina each a final hug before remaining behind to be banished from Everrealm.

Back at camp

Lina, Patrick, Andrew, and Shondo return to camp with Crio. They join the Queen and Ansgar around the fire, and the Queen offers Lina her cape to keep her warm. The Queen reminisces about Bonnie’s songs, and asks the paladins if they know the song about Everrealm. They tell her they could not do it justice without Bonnie.

Sir Ansgar asks Crio to take first watch, and the paladins offer to help if he needs it. They are all soon asleep, but as they sleep the amulet the Vizier gave to the Queen begins to glow green.

A snarl can be heard approaching camp as Crio falls asleep at the watch.
