After Christian’s banishment after his less than respectful tactics, the paladins feel like a stronger group than ever. One must still be banished, though. Who could it be?

The second episode of the night promises to bring greater mystery to what Verlox has up his sleeve as a stranger finds his way into the castle and brings with him some mysterious magic orbs.

A strange light

A floating orb, called a spile, emits a strange light, and Ansgar and Crio instruct the paladins to split up and figure out who is controlling it. They search the courtyard in groups, and the vizier spots the stranger. Ansgar, Patrick, and other paladins help to contain him, and when they have him secured, Ansgar powers down the spile.

Ansgar seems to know the stranger, whom he addresses as Heras, but he also notices that there are seven orbs missing from his belt. He sends the paladins to their quarters to look for the missing orbs. They rifle through their personal space and common areas to see if they could find the seven missing orbs, especially since there are only seven paladins left.

After a short pow-wow to discuss how Ansgar knew the stranger, they continue their hunt. They didn’t manage to find a single one, but Ansgar’s men found three. Ansgar shows them a falcon that they called back from the front lines to help them search for the orbs. He calls the bird the Eye of Centon. He then tells the paladins that if they don some bird-like masks they can see what the bird does, and when they find an orb, they should run, find it, bring it back to Ansgar for deactivation.

Andrew saw that the bird was in the battledome, and he takes off for it. Lina sees the same location, and she runs off after him. Shondo and Patrick see the moat area in their masks, so they take off for that location. Bonnie takes off for the gates they used for the team challenge last time. Adria sees that one may be located outside the castle, and she goes in search of that one.

Lina beats Andrew to the orb in the battledome, and races back to Ansgar to have it deactivated. Bonnie finds the one near the crashed gates. Patrick, Andrew, Leticia, Shondo, and Adria continue their search for orbs. Shondo finds one in their quarters, leaving just one single orb left.

The final orb…

The final four paladins race off to find the final orb. Alone outside the castle, Patrick finds the last one hidden in a pile of rubbish. Just like that, the bottom three paladins are revealed: Andrew, Leticia, and Adria will face the Fates in the Fates’ challenge.

Ansgar awards Lina the Mark of Observation for finding the first orb. It’s her second Mark earned, and she wears it proudly. The paladins then follow Ansgar to the traitor’s cell to see if they can get any information from him about what he was doing planting the orbs around Castle Saenctum.

Ansgar asks the intruder if he was the one to poison the Queen, and the traitor says that Verlox has many servants inside the walls. Ansgar tells him to rot in his cell after discovering a map of the kingdom in his bag. Ansgar asks the paladins to take the map to their quarters and see about deciphering what it could mean.

After they couldn’t figure out what the map was for, Crio returns and tells them that the Fates instructed him to take the pieces to them, so he gathers them and leaves the paladins in their quarters.

The Fates’ challenge

Andrew, Leticia, and Adria file into the Hall of Fates to face their challenge. Leticia and Andrew have never faced banishment before, and Adria is determined not to face the final judgement.

The Fates completed the map from the pieces they recovered from the traitor. The three paladins must use a glowing light and a selection of swords to direct the green light through the tops of the hilts and find the spot on the map where Verlox’s army is hiding.

Andrew thinks he has the order of swords correct, but when he stands by his glowing rock, nothing happens. He jumps back into action to solve the problem before either of the girls can finish. Adria thinks she has the solution and stands next to her glowing rock hopeful that she solved the puzzle. Hers does not appear to be correct either, so she returns to the puzzle. Each of them work diligently to solve the puzzle before them. Finally, Andrew is the first to solve the puzzle and is safe from banishment. The paladins must now choose between Leticia and Adria to decide who will be banished.

The next paladin to be banished is…

After a lengthy discussion, the paladins return to the Hall of Fates and choose which paladin they think should continue on The Quest. One by one, the remaining paladins file into the hall, and the decision is clear. Andrew, Shondo, and Lina have chosen Leticia, so she will continue. While Bonnie and Patrick chose Adria, she did not have enough votes and was chosen for banishment.

After sending Adria out of Everrealm, the paladins regroup in their quarters. They all agree that the top six are a good group. Ansgar brings drinks to the common room and all the paladins partake. He then asks a few personal questions of the paladins, which urges them to ask questions of him. He shares that he once had a wife who was close to giving birth, but she ultimately died. Leticia then asks Ansgar how he knew the intruder, and he shares that they once fought side by side and saved each others’ lives, but Heras betrayed him. Suddenly we see that out in the courtyard, something is on fire. The Queen hastens to the scene to discover what is going on, and they fear that Verlox may have arrived at Castle Saenctum.

Next time on ‘The Quest’

The paladins will venture outside the castle to see if they can earn their place in Everrealm. With Verlix getting closer and closer everyday, they are desperate to figure out how they can make their way to the final task and be the One True Hero.

Was the right paladin banished?
