Vengeance gets new angle as Anette O’Toole and Corbin Bernsen join Marvel’s The Punisher season 2.

Following the critically-acclaimed spectacle of the first season, The Punisher season 2 looks to be amping up the intensity — at least on the casting front. Joining Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle are Anette O’Toole (Smallville) and Corbin Bernsen (American Gods).

Bernsen will play Anderson Schultz, described as “an extremely wealthy man who’s grown accustomed to getting his way.” Bernsen’s character values “power and legacy…and he’ll implement less-than legal means to further those ends.”

O’Toole will play Schultz’s wife Eliza in The Punisher season 2. Her character is teased as “a conniving, wealthy woman, cut from the same manipulative cloth as her husband.”

To summarize: The Schultzes probably won’t be acting as Frank’s compassionate and much-needed therapists.

President of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb says that the Punisher team is “delighted to have Annette and Corbin join the remarkable talent this season,” promising that “our audience will enjoy them in very unexpected but perfectly cast roles.”

Corbin Bernsen and Anette O’Toole join Josh Stewart, Floriana Lima, and Giorgia Whigham new cast members for The Punisher season 2. In addition to Jon Bernthal, Ben Barnes returns as Billy Russo, and Amber Rose Revah and Jason R. Moore reprise their roles as Dinah Madani and Curtis Hoyle.

Marvel’s The Punisher season 2 will stream on Netflix next year.
